Alternators & Starters
Alternators and starters are two of many important things a engine needs to get started and stay started. Alternators are like a heart in a way it keeps the electric flowing and charging the battery at the same the it has a magnetic field to transform DC energy into AC energy. The Starter on the other hand also has a magnetic field to engage the Starter to spin the Flywheel to get the engine started.
Lets start with talking about the alternator the alternators job is to charge the battery as the vehicle is running fail to do so will cause the vehicle to run off only the battery and with as many acceseries there ae now a days the battery wont last to long and will eventually die.
The Starters job is to get the engine started other then that it does nothing. it has 3 wires connected to the selinoid on the starter one wire you dont even have to touch it is already connected its the wire from the selinoid to the starter it self the second wire is the hot at all times wire straight from the battery and the third wire is the signal wire from the igniotion switch to tell it to engage the starter
